ENT Surgeon
Upper Airway Specialist
Common symptom of upper airway blockage = waking up with a dry mouth or needing to sip water frequently during the night usually signifies abnormal mouthbreathing while asleep. This could be accompanied by soft or loud snoring. If it’s the latter, then your breathing passages are very obstructed. This may result in poor sleep quality and constant fatigue. Restoring normal nasal breathing using a nasal spray or surgical procedure improves sleep quality and daytime performance. Runners and cyclists will especially benefit.
Children with upper airway blockage are usually simple to treat as enlarged adenoids and tonsils are the culprits. Medication or surgery provide relief and better sleep for child (and parent)
