Dr Milton Raff is an anesthesiologist and pain management practitioner. He also has A B Sc degree majoring in biochemistry and genetics. He has been the Director of the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital pain clinic since 1998. The Pain Clinic at Vincent Pallotti hospital was introduced in 2002.

Dr Raff consults with all patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. He deals with multiple conditions including back and neck pain, “failed back surgery”, cancer pain, shingles, diabetic neuropathy and other pain syndromes such as chronic regional pain syndrome and phantom limb pain.

The patient will be assessed at the clinic following which a clinical plan will be implemented. This may include medical therapy, interventional radiology, and non-medical therapy. Referral to other members of a multi-disciplinary team will be made when necessary.
