Dr Thulja Trikamjee is a specialist Paediatrician, with a sub-specialty Certificate in Paediatric Allergy/Immunology, as well as a Diploma in Allergy. She is currently a consultant at the University of Cape Town Lung Institute, a member of the Allergy Society of South Africa(ALLSA), and the only African elected board member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology(EAACI). Her fellowship in Allergology was attained through the Discovery Foundation, who awarded her the Sub-specialist Award in 2015, and is also the recipient of the MSD ALLSA Research Award 2016 for her ongoing work on Aeroallergens in Dust.

Dr Trikamjee has presented her work both internationally and at local congresses, has appeared on health related talk shows, and has been an examiner to University of Cape Town medical students, as well as the Diploma in Allergy exam.

She was only the second person in Africa to have completed the Certificate in Allergology through the College of Medicine of South Africa, and is passionate about taking the Allergy Service to all parts of the country.

Special interests and expertise include General Paediatrics, Neonatalogy, Asthma, Food Allergy, Allergic Rhinitis, Drug and latex Allergy, Atopic Dermatitis / Eczema, Immunotherapy, Immunodeficiency, Urticaria, Angioedema, Allergy diagnostics and testing.
